Surprise Birthday Planned by my Grade 12 Boys!

Didn’t see this coming at all yesterday! Apparently, my grade 12 boys have been planning an early birthday surprise for me these past few weeks (they are so good at keeping secrets haha).

They had asked me a while back for my astrological sign and favorite fruit, which I found a little random to be honest because these questions were so out of the blue! Little did I know they were in the initial steps of planning this thoughtful celebration and shopping for the perfect fruit cake!

These boys are just so kind and considerate. I feel so honoured and blessed to have been part of their lives in their graduating year of high school before they head off to universities around the world.

The strong relationships we’ve built this year will without a doubt leave a lasting impact on me as an educator. For instance, as I reflect on my teaching experience in China, this past academic year, I am reminded of the important role that intercultural relationships play in not only fostering global awareness, but in enhancing overall learning as well. Thanks for making me feel so special boys. I'll never forget it ❤ 🌏
