Education is the Silver Bullet. It is Everything.

I’m a big fan of the ‘The West Wing’. Regardless of where one stands on the political spectrum, one could appreciate the show for its vibrant, verbose and witty style of dialogue. I, for one, am especially fond of the show for bringing its viewership optimism, hope and a vision of a better world.

As I plan my return home in the coming months, to teach and complete my MA in Educational Leadership at McGill, I find myself re-imagining education and thinking of ways education reform could help improve the school system for all children. If we want to live in better world, we need to value education and recognize the role it can play in creating a better world.

The following scene, played out by Rob Lowe as the fictional White House speechwriter, remains one of my favorite moments in the show. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
