Humanitarian Affairs Student Club 2010-2012

HACU EXEC.jpeg

As Founder and President of the Humanitarian Affairs club at Concordia University, I worked closely with a group of motivated undergraduate students who were passionate about making a difference in their local and international communities. Throughout the 2010-2011 academic year we organized campaigns on campus to raise awareness of several human rights issues. During this time, I also worked closely with my colleagues in South East Asia to organize a Humanitarian Leadership Conference in Thailand and an international service trip for my delegation. In May 2011, I was recognized by the Government of Quebec for my commitment to public service and was awarded The Youth Medal Award, which serves as an important reminder to maintain a strong sense of civic responsibility.

The event was well received by the Concordia community and was a great success.

The TIP Report is comprehensive, well drafted, and thoroughly documented. It constitutes the primary reference and main source of information on efforts made by governments worldwide to combat trafficking in persons. The purpose of this review is to analyze the valuable information provided in the U.S. State Department's TIP Report. It is not only a diplomatic tool designed to engage governments in the battle against trafficking; but also serves an educational function, which has been the inspiration for this research. The purpose of this review is to analyze in a comparative manner the information provided in the 2012 Trafficking in Persons Report (TIP Report).
