Teachers have so much to juggle on a daily basis: designing engaging lessons, learning new content, staying up to date with innovative teaching methodologies, managing a classroom, answering questions from concerned parents, grading the inevitable volume of assignments, etc.

Writing up full lesson plans for every day of the week may not always be possible, especially when things change last minute. I've learned that as important as it is to be prepared, it's also important to be flexible for the changes that arise along the way.

Answering the WHAT, HOW and WHY components of a lesson in one sentence allows teachers to zero in on the learning objectives in a clear and concise manner. It goes without saying that this one-sentence plan can stand on its own, but can also be made into a detailed and comprehensive lesson. Check out the link below for examples on how to put this simple plan into action.

I love the possibilities that the one-sentence lesson plan opens up! Hope you find it as useful as I do :)
